About This Blog
Welcome to Fosterfashion, Foster Swift’s fashion and design law blog.
This blog is dedicated to educating designers and other participants in the fashion industry by sharing the law and legal developments as they affect the fashion industry. Our goal is to share useful general information and provide commentary that will help you identify risks and avoid disputes. From time to time, we will inject our personal views on the intersection of fashion and culture in hopes of provoking a laugh, a thoughtful discussion or, ideally, both.
Deanna Swisher, primary contributor, is a shareholder at Foster Swift. She has practiced law for more than 28 years, most of which has been devoted to commercial litigation. Deanna has expanded her successful litigation practice to serve fashion designers and other creative entrepreneurs, and she has formed a team of Foster Swift attorneys with years of experience in the areas of law that are important to the fashion industry. In addition to drawing upon the Foster Swift team to bring depth to this blog, Deanna will invite her classmates and the educators of Fordham’s Fashion Law Institute to share their wisdom or will (shamelessly) bring their wisdom to you by sharing links to their works and observations.
We welcome your comments about what we've written and ideas for future submissions.
